Bollywood director Karan Johar recently took to social media to express his disappointment over a comedian’s impersonation of him, labeling it as “poor taste.” Johar, renowned for directing films like Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, did not disclose the comedian’s identity but raised concerns about the industry’s inclination towards self-deprecating humor, suggesting it diminishes its members’ credibility.
On May 5, Karan Johar shared his sentiments on Instagram, revealing, “I was sitting and watching television with my mom… and saw a promo of a reality comedy show on a supposedly respected channel. A comic was mimicking me in exceptionally poor taste…” Johar further expressed his disappointment, stating, “I expect this from trolls and anonymous individuals, but when individuals within the industry disrespect someone with over 25 years of experience, it reflects the times we live in. This doesn’t enrage me; it simply saddens me!”
Meanwhile, Karan Johar has several productions in the pipeline, including Mr & Mrs Mahi, Kill, and Jigra.
