Saat Uchakkey Bollywood Movie Review

Our film, “Saat Uchakkey” is set in the tangible, realistic, streets of Old Delhi.

A goofy comedy that, follows a group of trifling cooks who are working together to discover a lost golden treasure buried in Delhi. The thieving band, even locates the long lost treasure but they suddenly have a change of heart.  Their escapades are shroud in mystery, greed, and stumbling into crisis that foils their treasure hunting plans.

Unfortunately, this film has a lot of cuss words in it which in any good film really isn’t necessary to tell the story. It also has a lot of sexually crude comments, which are again not needed to tell a good story.

Saat Uchakkey’s” original release was for 2012 or 2013.  But, it was protested and challenged by India’s censors due to the amount of profanity throughout the film.

Saat Uchakkey Bollywood Movie Review

Our main characters in this group of thieves include: Pappi, Jaggi, Bichchi, and Haggu.

Pappi Jaatwala is played by Manoj Bajpayee is the mastermind of this heist.

With the opening scenes, set in a mental hospital as a doctor is enthralled by the baddest inmate (Bichchi played by Annu Kapoor) and his possible supernatural abilities. He manages to get out of the institution and then get his boys to start planning the treasure robbing.

His band of robbers include: Pappi’s girlfriend Sona (played by Aditi Sharma), Jaggi (played by Vijay Raaz), Haggu (played by Nitin Bhasin), Khappe (played by Aparshakti Khurana), Babbe Tashni (played by Jatin Sarna), and Phodu (played by Vipul Vig).

The group is found out and pursued by local cop Tejpal (played by Kay Kay Menon). Tejpal may have other motives in pursuing this group as he has eyes for Sona.

Our burglars get into the mansion, and even locate the treasure. But in the midst of the getaway Bichchi with his magical powers comes in the form of a god. He shows them the real error of their ways and in the end they make the right and honorable choice.

Tejpal in his heroic nature goes back to the police station, saving the day and hands over the discovered treasure. There is even a wedding that happens.

Though, very funny in their own right Vijay Raaz and Kay Kay Menon bring their own brand of humor to brighten up the film.

Anupam has a cameo in this movie. Bajpayee’s character is a mean, woman demeaning one with how he talks with her and his violence towards her.

So, everyone really has a happy ending. Wrongs are made right. Love is found, all showcased in a comical way.

However, this film doesn’t really have much of a strong storyline or vision at all. It seems to be just a generic script. However, if you like goofy, raunchy comedies this would be one to check out.
