Kunal Kemmu’s Directorial Debut Sparks Excitement
The buzz surrounding Excel Entertainment’s upcoming film, Madgaon Express, is undeniable. He even steps outside his comfort zone by lending his voice, songwriting talents, and co-composition skills to the heartwarming track ‘Hum Yahin.’
Kunal Kemmu Dons a Singer’s Hat!
In a surprise move, Kemmu took to social media to unveil his latest creation, ‘Hum Yahin.’ Sharing the song, he wrote, “Another debut for me! As a singer, songwriter, and co-composer. Hope you guys like it…listen to the complete song in the Madgaon Express album, streaming now on all music platforms #humyahi #madgaonexpress.”
The Inspiration Behind ‘Hum Yahin’
Kemmu also offered a glimpse into the song’s creation. “I love singing as a hobby,” he revealed. “It wasn’t planned, but an encounter with a foreign artist singing in a different language sparked the inspiration. We reached out to the artist to recreate the tune in Hindi as a friendship song, leading to the birth of ‘Hum Yahin.'”
A Collaborative Effort
Recalling the song’s origins, Kemmu explained, “During a recording session with Ankur Tiwari, I was inspired by the melody of ‘Hum Yahin.’ Overnight, I penned the lyrics, and the next day, we presented the song to Farhan and Ritesh, who loved it. And that’s how ‘Hum Yahin’ found its way into the project.”
Madgaon Express: A Nostalgic Trip
With the tagline “Bachpan ke sapne…. lag gaye apne,” (Childhood dreams come true), Madgaon Express promises a heartwarming journey down memory lane. Directed by Kunal Kemmu and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner, the film is set to release in theaters on March 22, 2024.
