Bharatiya Janata Party Announces Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil as Lok Sabha Candidates
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revealed its fifth list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections, including prominent names from the entertainment industry. Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil have been nominated to contest from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh and the Meerut constituency in Uttar Pradesh, respectively.

Kangana Ranaut, a vocal supporter of the BJP for years, expressed her joy at the news by sharing her excitement on her social media platform X (formerly Twitter). She stated, “My beloved Bharat and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has always had my unwavering support. Today, the national leadership of BJP has nominated me as their Lok Sabha candidate from my birthplace, Himachal Pradesh, Mandi constituency. I wholeheartedly accept the high command’s decision to contest the Lok Sabha polls. I am honored and thrilled to officially join the party and pledge to serve as a dedicated karyakarta and a responsible public servant. Thank you.”
Arun Govil, a BJP member since 2021, is renowned for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic TV show Ramayan on Doordarshan. With a background in Hindi cinema, he is set to portray Lord Vitthal in the upcoming movie Sant Tukaram, alongside Marathi actor Subodh Bhave in the lead role.
Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming project includes playing the role of India’s former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, in the film Emergency, which she also directs.
