Banjo 2016 Bollywood movie review

Banjo 2016 Bollywood movie review: This film is visually a stunning modern version of the Bollywood experience. Initial release: September 23, 2016

Banjo “Is a talent waiting for recognition in City of ‘Million Dreams’. Watch the story of Struggle, Passion & Determination.”

The once celebrated banjo players of India have now taken a back seat to more modern music. Considered street music now, this style has seemed to have faded into the shadows of the past until now.

Banjo 2016 Bollywood movie review

It follows the story of Tarat (played by Riteish Deshmukh) a banjo player seeking the fame, success, and respect of being a rock star in India.

As well as, a young American musician/dj Christina ( played by Nargis Fakhri) who is searching for songs for an upcoming festival and she travels to Mumbai to seek out the best artist. She seeks out Tarat and his band to work with her.

Problems arise, when the band goes out to promote their music. The promoters think the street music is below them. However, Tarat and his band show them what real music, banjo music is.

Banjo is a musical drama with tremendously uplifting music. Featuring new music from award-winning Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. With it’s songs performed by also much admired  Nakash Aziz and composer Vishal Dadlani.

“Banjo” is directed by Ravi Jadhav who has previously made Marathi movies. Banjo is his first in directing of Hindi films.  This film is inspired by a Marathi movie of the same title. For those unaware the Marathi people are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group of Maharashtra, India

A lively film celebrating the value of a dream and the power of many voices working together!
